✂️ Remove Background
AI-powered background removal — 100% in your browser
🔒 Your image never leaves your device. All processing happens locally in your browser using ONNX Runtime + WebGPU/WebAssembly AI. No upload, no server, no tracking.
Features
- AI-Powered Detection — Uses a state-of-the-art neural network (U2-Net) to detect subjects with pixel-perfect accuracy — even hair and fur.
- WebGPU Accelerated — Runs on your GPU via WebGPU for near-instant results. Falls back to WebAssembly on older browsers.
- Zero Upload — The AI model downloads once and runs entirely in your browser. Your photos never touch a server.
- Transparent PNG Output — Outputs a clean PNG with transparent background, ready for use in designs, presentations, or e-commerce.
How It Works
- Drop your image — Drag and drop or click to select any JPG, PNG, or WebP image.
- AI processes locally — The neural network analyzes your image and separates the subject from the background — all in your browser.
- Download result — Get a clean PNG with transparent background. No watermarks, no limits.

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the background removal?
We use U2-Net, one of the most accurate open-source segmentation models. It handles complex edges like hair, fur, and semi-transparent objects well. Results are comparable to paid services like remove.bg.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser on first use (about 40MB, cached afterwards). All processing happens locally on your device. Your images never leave your computer.
Why is the first run slow?
The first time you use this tool, the AI model needs to download (~40MB). It's cached in your browser after that. Subsequent uses are much faster, especially with WebGPU-capable browsers.
What browsers are supported?
All modern browsers work via WebAssembly fallback. For best performance, use Chrome 113+ or Edge which support WebGPU acceleration — this makes processing 20x faster.
Is there a file size limit?
There's no hard limit, but very large images (8000px+) may be slow on devices without a dedicated GPU. We recommend images under 4000px for the best experience.
